The Mardlers: Whiskey In The Dark

To mardle; from the Norfolk dialect meaning ‘to gossip or chat’.

‘Its a bit of a stretch but we’re gonna say it means story tellers’ – The Mardlers

“Witty, observational folk songs for the millennial generation” – Rockshot magazine

The Mardlers have had an exciting first year. Their first ever gig got them to the final of the Strawberry Fair’s battle of the bands. Although they did not win, their 15 minutes on that stage at the Junction awarded them a slot at the Strawberry Fair’s Wigwam stage, an acoustic slot at Ely Folk festival, and the Headline slot on the local acts stage at Cambridge’s Big Weekend. Their sound has it’s anti-folk sentiments, with a generous portion of that classic British indie rock, which although a staple of many music scenes around the country, is something of a stranger to Cambridge.
