The Mardlers: 1969

The Mardlers have had an exciting first year. Their first ever gig got them to the final of the Strawberry Fair’s battle of the bands. Although they did not win, their 15 minutes on that stage at the Junction awarded them a slot at the Strawberry Fair’s Wigwam stage, an acoustic slot at Ely Folk festival, and the Headline slot on the local acts stage at Cambridge’s Big Weekend. They have the spent the end of the summer recording their first EP, to launch at the Blue Moon on the 8th of Novemeber. Tickets sold out within 5 days of release. Their sound has it’s anti-folk sentiments, with a generous portion of that classic British indie rock, which although a staple of many music scenes around the country, is something of a stranger to Cambridge.
